(Adnkronos) - Un biglietto aereo andata e ritorno, in mezzo un intervento di chirurgia bariatrica che "non si sa bene qual è né come viene fatto", con il pericolo di complicanze che "alla fine dobbiamo curare noi" e che "paga il nostro Servizio sanitario nazionale". A denunciare il fenomeno è Marco Antonio Zappa, past president della Sicob (Società italiana di chirurgia dell'obesità e delle malattie metaboliche), in un'intervista all'Adnkronos Salute in vista del congresso nazionale d'autunno della società scientifica, in programma il 28 e il 29 ottobre a Milano. "Numeri precisi non ce ne sono, ma i pazienti italiani che vanno a farsi operare all'estero sono nettamente in aumento", segnala l'esperto, big mondiale della chirurgia addominale e noto anche per avere curato Fedez quando, nel settembre 2023, finì d'urgenza in ospedale per un'emorragia da due ulcere. Â
Fra le mete di chi sceglie il 'bisturi' anti-obesità in trasferta c'è la Turchia, e basta un giro nel web per imbattersi in veri e propri pacchetti low-cost. "Nemmeno fosse un trapianto di capelli, che pure hai suoi rischi. Ma qui parliamo di un intervento di chirurgia addominale", sottolinea Zappa, ex direttore dell'Uoc di Chirurgia generale dell'Asst Fatebenefratelli-Sacco di Milano, oggi a capo del Dipartimento chirurgico del gruppo Iseni Sanità . "La chirurgia bariatrica non deve assolutamente essere vista come un scorciatoia per dimagrire", precisa il medico che co-presiederà il Sicob Fall Meeting insieme a Paolo Gentileschi, vicepresidente della società nazionale per la chirurgia dell'obesità . "E' una chirurgia dedicata all'obesità grave - ricorda - che ha precise indicazioni e che va inserita in un percorso complesso di cui l'intervento è soltanto una parte, e nel quale il chirurgo accompagna il paziente insieme a tante altre figure specialistiche", dal nutrizionista allo psicologo del comportamento alimentare. Â
Se è vero che in Italia la chirurgia dell'obesità è "ampiamente sottoutilizzata, adottata in una quota irrisoria dei pazienti candidabili all'intervento", queste operazioni "vanno eseguite in centri specializzati e proposte nell'ambito di un percorso ben definito". Ne va del risultato, della sua durata nel tempo e soprattutto della salute, avverte Zappa: "Perché in caso di complicanze, rimetterci mano, reintervenire, moltiplica i rischi per il paziente".Â
