(Adnkronos) -  Guardia alta all'Istituto nazionale per le malattie infettive (InmI) Lazzaro Spallanzani di Roma contro il virus Marburg. In risposta all'allerta lanciata dall'Organizzazione mondiale della sanità , che il 27 settembre ha dichiarato l'epidemia di Marburg in Ruanda, l'Irccs capitolino ha intensificato i programmi formativi specifici per l'alto isolamento, sta provvedendo ad aggiornare la disponibilità di dispositivi di protezione individuale (Dpi) e sta allestendo stanze per accogliere immediatamente eventuali pazienti. Lo annuncia l'Inmi, centro di riferimento nazionale per febbre emorragiche e attualmente unica struttura italiana deputata ad accogliere possibili casi, ricorda l'istituto in una nota. Â
Nel mese di ottobre sono previste 10 sessioni di formazione - informa lo Spallanzani - un training on-the-job rivolto principalmente al personale infermieristico e medico della task force alto isolamento della Uoc Malattie infettive ad alta intensità di cura e della Uoc Terapia intensiva e rianimazione. Il programma prevede addestramento alle procedure di decontaminazione e sanificazione; formazione/addestramento per la corretta gestione dei rigorosi passaggi di vestizione e svestizione; gestione dei percorsi di ingresso e uscita dalla zona rossa dedicata all'assistenza.Â
Non solo. "Stiamo provvedendo ad aggiornare la disponibilità dei Dpi necessari per il contesto di alto isolamento con nuove tute protettive, grembiuli e nuovi guanti", riferisce Nicola De Marco, referente della Uosd Professioni infermieristiche. "Questi Dpi sono fondamentali - sottolinea - per creare una barriera fisica tra il personale sanitario e gli agenti patogeni, ma il loro uso esclusivo non è sufficiente per ridurre il rischio di trasmissione di malattie altamente contagiose. Pertanto, il personale viene addestrato a tutte le fasi di vestizione e svestizione, un processo essenziale per garantire il biocontenimento. Inoltre, per garantire la prontezza operativa, stiamo allestendo diverse stanze di degenza all'interno del padiglione Alto isolamento, pronte ad accogliere uno o più potenziali pazienti in poche ore o persino in pochi minuti. L'allestimento di questi locali è predisposto per accogliere sia casi sospetti che confermati di malattie altamente contagiose Bsl-4 (livello di biosicurezza 4), con pazienti clinicamente stabili o che necessitano di supporto respiratorio invasivo".Â
Il reparto di alto isolamento dello Spallanzani, diretto da Emanuele Nicastri - ricorda l'Irccs - è dedicato alla gestione altamente specializzata di pazienti affetti da patogeni del gruppo 4 o da patogeni sconosciuti con elevata letalità o sequele invalidanti/permanenti, e opera in accordo con i protocolli del ministero della Salute garantendo sicurezza del paziente, degli operatori sanitari e sicurezza nel trasporto del paziente, nella gestione dei campioni biologici e nelle indagini strumentali.Â
Oltre al personale interno dell'Inmi Spallanzani, nel percorso formativo è stata coinvolta anche l'Ares 118 addestrando il personale infermieristico all'uso corretto dei Dpi, qualora fosse necessario il trasporto in autoambulanza di casi potenziali.Â
