(Adnkronos) - Pierre Christin, uno dei grandi sceneggiatori di fumetti francesi, creatore con il disegnatore Jean-Claude Mézière della celebre serie di fantascienza 'Valérian et Laureline' (in Italia conosciuta come 'Valérian'), è morto giovedì 3 ottobre a Parigi all'età di 86 anni. L'annuncio della scomparsa è stato dato dal suo editore Dargaud con un comunicato stampa intitolato 'La fine di una storia magnifica'. "La sua morte è una perdita inestimabile per la nostra professione, - ha scritto l'editore - che ha contribuito a sviluppare nella stessa misura di René Goscinny, il creatore di Asterix". Â
Nato il 27 luglio 1938, nella periferia parigina, Pierre Christin, che si firmava Linus, è stato uno degli autori più prolifici del mondo del fumetto in Francia. In cinquant'anni di carriera ha pubblicato un centinaio di opere, collaborando con una serie di importanti fumettisti, da Mézières e André Juillard a Enki Bilal, François Boucq e Jacques Tardi. Nel 2018 al Festival internazionale di Angoulême è stato insignito del Prix Goscinny per l'album autobiografico 'Est-Ouest' e per la sua opera complessiva. Â
Alla fine del 1967 sulla rivista 'Pilote' Christin crea con Mézière il suo personaggio più famoso, Valérian, affiancato dalla bella ed emancipata Laureline: sarà da questo momento il suo maggiore impegno fumettistico. La serie si concentra sulle avventure di Valérian, un agente spazio-temporale, e la sua collega dai capelli rossi, Laureline, mentre viaggiano nell'universo attraverso lo spazio e il tempo. La saga fantascientifica si è sviluppata in 23 albi fino al 2010. In Italia 001 Edizioni ne ha raccolto l'intero ciclo in 7 volumi. Questa serie di fantascienza, tradotta in una ventina di lingue, ha ispirato registi come George Lucas (autore della saga intergalattica 'Star Wars') e Luc Besson, che nel 2017 ha realizzato un adattamento cinematografico del fumetto 'Valerian e la città dei mille pianet', interpretato da Dane DeHaan (Valérian) e Cara Delevingne (Laureline).Â
Pierre Christin ha lavorato su progetti disegnati da Jacques Tardi, Annie Goetzinger, Jijé, François Boucq ed Enki Bilal, con cui ha collaborato a 'Le falangi dell'ordine nero', 'La crociera dei dimenticati', 'Il vascello di pietra', 'La città che non esisteva' e 'Battuta di caccia'.Â
