(Adnkronos) - “Continuare a ignorare i tre pilastri fondamentali della transizione - neutralità tecnologica, oggettività scientifica e gradualità - comporta con certezza il rischio di uscire dal mercato per fondamentali settori della nostra industria: non solo automotive ma – riferendomi soprattutto a questo territorio - anche metallurgia, agroalimentare, packaging, trattamento rifiuti. Senza queste industrie non potremmo raggiungere gli obiettivi di riciclo imposti dall’Europa”. Lo ha detto il presidente di Assolombarda, Alessandro Spada, nella relazione dell’assemblea 2024, tracciando anche il modello di sostenibilità promosso dalle imprese.
Obiettivi rispetto ai quali “noi, più di chiunque altro, siamo all’avanguardia - ha assicurato Spada -. Gli imprenditori di questo territorio sono veri e propri inventori, precursori di sostenibilità. Una sostenibilità ambientale certo, ma allo stesso tempo economica e sociale. Per noi la sostenibilità non è un vincolo o un obbligo di legge. È un vero e proprio vantaggio competitivo”.
A Milano, per esempio, “la facciamo con la prima tecnologia per il recupero di qualsiasi metallo, comprese le materie rare dalle acque reflue. O ancora con la prima pompa centrifuga per convertire la plastica non riciclabile in bio-olio”. A Monza e nella Brianza fino ad arrivare a Pavia “la facciamo con un eccellente ecosistema di rigenerazione della natura, con ettari ed ettari di terreni recuperati alla biodiversità” ha spiegato ancora Spada. E da Pavia fino a Lodi, “con uno dei centri più importanti nazionali per il recupero degli oli esausti e solventi”.
Il presidente di Assolombarda, si è detto poi "assolutamente preoccupato" per i dazi americani imposti sull'alluminio prodotto in Europa. "I dazi - ha detto a margine dell'assemblea generale di Assolombarda, in corso all'Università Bocconi - sono l’ultima ratio che dovrebbe essere messa in campo in commercio".
Il presidente Spada auspica in una revisione: "Mi auguro che si possa discutere di questo argomento in maniera importante perché se alziamo le barriere quello che potremmo avere saranno tante sconfitte". I dazi dovrebbero essere applicati "solamente quando c'è concorrenza sleale o un utilizzo improprio di determinati beni e prodotti che non potevano essere utilizzati. Lì a ha senso mettere dazi" ha aggiunto.
"Quando invece servono solo per proteggere il mercato - ha poi concluso Spada -, siamo scettici perché abbiamo sempre detto che i mercati devono essere liberi, aperti, con una sana concorrenza che vuol dire il rispetto di tutte le regole".
