(Adnkronos) - Bruce Springsteen si schiera apertamente con Kamala Harris, invita a votare la candidata democratica alle elezioni presidenziali Usa e mette in guardia gli americani da un secondo mandato di Donald Trump.
Ieri, in occasione del rally-concerto della campagna elettorale della Harris ad Atlanta, in Georgia, la leggenda del rock ha dichiarato che Trump "corre per diventare un tiranno americano", aggiungendo che il repubblicano "non capisce questo Paese o cosa significhi essere americano". Sul palco, accanto al candidata, e a Barack Obama, oltre a "The Boss" anche il regista Spike Lee e l'attore Samuel L. Jackson.
Springsteen ha detto di sostenere la democratica Harris perché vuole vedere alla Casa Bianca "un presidente che rispetti la costituzione, che non minacci ma vuole proteggere e guidare la nostra grande democrazia, che crede nello stato di diritto e nel trasferimento pacifico del potere, che punti a costruire un'economia per la classe media”, ha detto Springsteen.
La rockstar ha anche eseguito diverse canzoni con chitarra acustica e armonica, tra cui 'The Promised Land' e poi 'Land of hope and dreams'. La campagna di Harris afferma che si tratta del "primo di una serie di concerti 'Quando votiamo vinciamo' per mobilitare l'entusiasmo e spingere gli elettori della Georgia a votare in anticipo".
La Georgia è uno dei sette cosiddetti “swing states” (Stati in bilico) che decideranno le elezioni presidenziali americane del 5 novembre. Per vincere, un candidato ha bisogno di 270 voti elettorali, mentre la Georgia ne ha 16.
Quattro anni fa, il Presidente degli Stati Uniti Joe Biden sconfisse Trump nello Stato con un margine di poco inferiore ai 12.000 voti. Secondo i sondaggi, Trump ha un vantaggio marginale nel cosiddetto Peach State, ma la maggior parte vede il risultato - e l'elezione - troppo vicino per essere definito.
