(Adnkronos) - Proteggere le istituzioni israeliane in Germania è una delle priorità numero uno per Berlino. Lo ha assicurato il ministro tedesco della Giustizia, Marco Buschmann, all'indomani del fermo in Germania di un giovane accusato di pianificare un attacco contro l'ambasciata israeliana. Â
Secondo fonti di polizia citate dalla Bild, si tratta di un 28enne di origini libiche sospettato di legami con il sedicente Stato islamico e fermato ieri nell'ambito di un blitz a Bernau. Il giornale ha riferito anche di un'operazione di Polizia a Sankt Augustin, nell'ambito dello stesso caso.Â
"A quanto sappiamo, l'uomo arrestato stava prendendo di mira l'ambasciata israeliana a Berlino", ha detto il ministro all'agenzia tedesca Dpa. "La protezione delle istituzioni israeliane in Germania è di particolare importanza in questo periodo in cui l'odio verso Israele e l'antisemitismo guadagnano terreno in tutto il mondo e il terrorismo trova costantemente nuovi sostenitori", ha aggiunto. In una dichiarazione diffusa via X l'ambasciatore israeliano a Berlino, Ron Prosor, ha ringraziato le autorità tedesche che "garantiscono la sicurezza della nostra ambasciata". Â
Il giovane libico arrestato dalla Polizia tedesca aveva intenzione di usare armi da fuoco nell'attentato, affermano i magistrati che indagano sulla vicenda. Â
Il sospetto, identificato come Omar A, comparirà in giornata davanti alla Corte di giustizia federale di Karlsruhe. E' accusato di voler sferrare un "attacco di alto profilo con armi da fuoco contro l'ambasciata israeliana a Berlino". E "per pianificare l'attacco ha scambiato informazioni con un componente dell'Is su una chat di messaggistica".Â
