(Adnkronos) - E' passato un anno da quel ''terrificante incubo'' che fu il 7 ottobre. Giorno in cui, tra i 215 ostaggi presi da Hamas nel sud di Israele, c'era anche Emily Hand, che allora aveva 8 anni. ''Emily continua a riprendersi, sta decisamente bene'', racconta un anno dopo ad Adnkronos Thomas Hand. ''Emily non parla molto dei suoi 50 giorni di prigionia, credo che voglia solo lasciarsi alle spalle tutti quei ricordi e andare avanti con la sua vita'', spiega Hand.Â
''Siamo stati e continuiamo a essere rifugiati nel nostro Paese come migliaia di altri'', prosegue l'uomo, aggiungendo che ''tutte le nostre speranze sono rivolte a far uscire vivi e vegeti gli ostaggi rimasti'' ancora nella Striscia di Gaza. ''Speriamo di tornare un giorno a casa nel nostro amato Kibbutz Be'eri'', aggiunge. Emily, che ha compiuto 9 anni durante la prigionia, si trovava proprio in quel kibbutz quando è stata rapita. E tra i primi racconti al padre dopo la liberazione aveva detto di aver creduto di aver trascorso ''un anno'' a Gaza.Â
La bambina, tra i 13 ostaggi israeliani liberati da Hamas a novembre nel secondo giorno di tregua nella Striscia di Gaza, è stata al centro di una vicenda particolare. Le prime news dopo il massacro facevano riferimento alla sua morte e la notizia era stata accolta quasi con sollievo dal padre. "Mi hanno detto 'abbiamo trovato Emily, è morta'. E io ho detto 'Sì' e ho sorriso, perché era la migliore notizia tra le ipotesi. O era morta o era a Gaza... Quello che fanno alle persone a Gaza è peggio della morte... La morte è una benedizione", aveva detto il padre.Â
All'inizio di novembre, le nuove informazioni: Emily è viva ed è in mano ad Hamas. ''Sorpreso, scioccato, non completamente felice. Felice lo sarò solo quando potrà tornare da noi, spero presto'', aveva detto Thomas Hand all'Adnkronos il 5 novembre. "Ti amiamo tutti, stiamo tutti aspettando il tuo rilascio sicuro il prima possibile. Sii forte'', le parole del padre 20 giorni dopo.Â
