(Adnkronos) - Elon Musk al telefono con Vladimir Putin da 2 anni. Il magnate, boss di X, ha avuto colloqui mantenuti fino a ora segreti con il presidente della Russia durante tutto il periodo della guerra in Ucraina, dall'ottobre del 2022 "fino a quest'anno": lo afferma il Wall Street Journal, citando fonti americane, europee e russe.Â
Il tycoon di origini sudafricane, grande sostenitore di Donald Trump in vista delle elezioni del 5 novembre negli Stati Uniti, ha anche parlato regolarmente con "russi di alto livello", incluso il primo capo di gabinetto del Cremlino, Sergei Kiriyenko.Â
"L'Amministrazione non apprezza" questi contatti, ha spiegato una fonte Usa, precisando tuttavia che non sono arrivate segnalazioni di possibili violazioni della sicurezza. Nell'ottobre del 2022, Musk aveva detto di aver parlato di spazio con Putin nell'aprile del 2021. Putin, secondo il quotidiano, avrebbe chiesto a Musk di non attivare il sistema satellitare Starlink su Taiwan, come cortesia a Pechino.Â

Starlink ha avuto un ruolo centrale anche nel rapporto tra Musk e l'Ucraina. Subito dopo l'invasione ordinata da Putin, a febbraio 2022, il magnate ha attivato la rete satellitare mettendola a disposizione di Kiev, che ha potuto gestire le comunicazioni nonostante gli attacchi russi alle infrastrutture. Non sono mancati, però, episodi controversi.Â
In particolare, Kiev ha accusato Musk di aver negato la copertura di Starlink per un'ambiziosa offensiva contro la Crimea. Il tycoon ha respinto le accuse, affermando che il supporto della rete satellitare non sarebbe mai stato garantito per operazioni d'attacco.Â
Negli ultimi mesi, con il progressivo avvicinamento a Trump in vista delle elezioni, Musk ha assunto toni estremamente critici nei confronti della Nato della linea scelta dal presidente Joe Biden: per il boss di X e Tesla, la fornitura di armi a Kiev serve solo a prolungare un conflitto che Putin non perderà .Â

Per la Russia, Putin e Musk hanno avuto un solo colloquio, al telefono, in cui hanno discusso di "spazio e delle tecnologie in circolazione ora e future". Â
"Gli articoli sui contatti tra Musk e Putin sono un elemento della dura campagna elettorale in corso negli Stati Uniti", dice Dmitry Peskov, portavoce del Cremlino. "Sul Wall Street Journal e su altri media americani negli ultimi tempi ci sono state tante bugie, il Cremlino non reputa queste pubblicazioni autorevoli", aggiunge.Â
