(Adnkronos) - Produrre più armi, a costi più bassi e più velocemente. Il segretario generale della Nato Mark Rutte, il suo esordio a livello operativo, presenta in conferenza stampa a Bruxelles la ministeriale Difesa di domani e dopodomani.Â
Nel campo dell'industria della difesa nella Nato, ha spiegato Rutte, "negli ultimi due anni abbiamo fatto progressi significativi nella produzione di munizioni, navi, veicoli da combattimento e motori, ma non produciamo abbastanza e i costi restano troppo alti. Dobbiamo produrre di più e a costi più bassi, rapidamente". Â
Gli alleati della Nato "hanno deciso che il percorso dell'Ucraina verso la Nato è irreversibile. Molti alleati hanno siglato trattati di sicurezza bilaterali con Kiev. Credo che tutto questo lavoro costituisca un ponte verso l'Alleanza. L'Ucraina entrerà nella Nato al momento giusto", ha detto ancora Rutte, aggiungendo: "E' mia ferma convinzione che l'Ucraina un giorno sarà un membro della Nato". Per Rutte tuttavia "non è possibile delineare ora" con precisione quando Kiev si unirà all'Alleanza. Â
Il piano del presidente ucraino Volodymyr Zelensky per arrivare alla fine della guerra con la Russia "ha molti aspetti: dobbiamo vedere che cosa si può fare e cosa no", dice ancora il segretario generale.Â
"Vogliamo impedire a Vladimir Putin di fare ciò che vuole" in Ucraina. "E' inaccettabile: non si può invadere un altro Paese, nel mondo del 2022, 2023 e 2024. Abbiamo superato il colonialismo: abbiamo decolonizzato gran parte del mondo e non ricolonizzeremo un altro Paese", aveva detto stamani il segretario generale della Nato, incontrando a Bruxelles la prima ministra della Lettonia Evika Silina. "Putin - aveva sottolineato Rutte - non riuscirà a fare quello che vuole in Ucraina: questo significa che sosterremo massicciamente Kiev, con aiuti militari, per fare in modo che siano in grado di contrattaccare. Al momento vediamo che sul fronte orientale i russi stanno realizzando piccoli avanzamenti, ma un costo considerevole".Â
