(Adnkronos) - Il Dipartimento di Stato Usa ha approvato una possibile vendita militare estera al governo italiano del sistema di missione di attacco elettronico e delle relative apparecchiature per un costo stimato di 680 milioni di dollari. La Defense Security Cooperation Agency ha rilasciato la certificazione richiesta notificando oggi al Congresso questa possibile vendita. Il governo italiano ha richiesto di acquistare il sistema di missione di attacco elettronico (EA)-37B.Â
"Questa proposta di vendita sosterrà gli obiettivi di politica estera e gli obiettivi di sicurezza nazionale degli Stati Uniti migliorando la sicurezza di un alleato della Nato che è una forza per la stabilità politica e il progresso economico in Europa", spiega il sito web della Defense Security Cooperation Agency, aggiungendo che "migliorerà la capacità dell'Italia di affrontare le minacce attuali e future aumentando l'interoperabilità con l'aeronautica militare degli Stati Uniti (USAF) e interrompendo le comunicazioni di comando e controllo del nemico quando l'Italia contribuisce alle operazioni di emergenza all'estero. L'Italia non avrà difficoltà ad assorbire questi articoli nelle sue forze armate. La proposta di vendita di questa attrezzatura e supporto non altererà l'equilibrio militare di base nella regione. Il contraente principale sarà BAE Systems, con sede a Hudson". Â
