(Adnkronos) - L'India non fornisce armi all'Ucraina nella guerra contro la Russia. Nuova Delhi ha smentito, definendole "speculazioni", le notizie secondo cui non avrebbe impedito ad aziende europee che li avevano acquistati di trasferire proiettili di artiglieria made in Nuova Delhi all'Ucraina. Secondo quanto rivelato ieri dalla Reuters, il trasferimento andrebbe avanti da un anno e l'India non avrebbe preso alcuna misura nonostante le ripetute proteste di Mosca.
Quanto scritto "implica violazioni da parte dell'India, che non esistono, e quindi è impreciso e fuorviante", ha scritto su X Randhir Jaiswal, portavoce del ministero degli Esteri, secondo cui Nuova Delhi ha "un passato impeccabile di rispetto degli obblighi internazionali” sulla non proliferazione delle armi e ha le sue solide regole di esportazione.
L'India di Narendra Modi non ha aderito alle sanzioni internazionali contro la Russia per la guerra in Ucraina e a luglio ha visitato Mosca per salutare "il caro amico" Vladimir Putin. Una visita che aveva "deluso" il presidente ucraino Zelensky, fino a quando, qualche settimana dopo, Modi è stato anche a Kiev.
Zelensky oggi ha ricevuto a Kiev la presidente della Commissione europea, Ursula von der Leyen. "E' di fondamentale importanza usare i fondi dello Strumento Europeo per la Pace e dello Strumento per l'Ucraina per sostenere le nostre forze armate. E' importante che questi fondi non vengano bloccati, perché questo avrà un impatto sulla nostra capacità di difenderci, di difendere il nostro popolo e sulla posizione dell'Ucraina sul campo di battaglia", ha detto il leader di Kiev.
Zelensky la prossima settimana volerà negli Usa e spera che il presidente degli Stati Uniti, Joe Biden, sostenga il suo 'Piano per la vittoria' per mettere fine a più di due anni e mezzo di guerra con la Russia. "Spero davvero che sostenga questo piano", ha detto in vista del suo viaggio a Washington. "Il piano è progettato per decisioni che dovranno essere prese da ottobre a dicembre. Ci piacerebbe molto. Allora crediamo che il piano funzionerà", ha aggiunto Zelensky.
