(Adnkronos) - Si avvicina Halloween e la zucca torna a essere protagonista di queste giornate autunnali. Negli Stati Uniti si è persino tenuta la cinquantunesima edizione del concorso mondiale che ogni anno premia la zucca più pesante del mondo. A vincere l'Half Moon Bay World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-off è stato il frutto di Travis Gienger (da lui 'battezzato' Rudy): coltivato nel Minnesota, si è aggiudicato il titolo grazie a un peso di 2.471 libbre, ossia oltre 1120 chili. Â
Travis Gienger, che ha guidato 35 ore secondo i media statunitensi per portare la super zucca dal Minnesota fino in California, è alla sua quarta vittoria. Lo scorso anno aveva battuto il record del mondo con una zucca di 2749 libbre. Â
