(Adnkronos) - "La letteratura scientifica mostra che molti fattori consentono di prevenire la degenerazione del sistema nervoso, e favorire quindi la conservazione di un funzionamento a lungo termine. Tra questi ci sono sicuramente fattori genetici, ma a pesare sono anche i fattori ambientali controllabili. Tra questi, sicuramente lo stress, inteso in senso medico e non psicologico, e quindi tutto ciò che può danneggiare i neuroni diabete, obesità , cattiva alimentazione, incontri ambientali con sostanze tossiche, pesticidi o inquinanti". Lo afferma Alberto Albanese, professore di Neurologia presso l’Istituto Clinico Humanitas Rozzano e presidente dell'Associazione internazionale sulle sindromi parkinsoniane e malattie correlate, in occasione dell'apertura del 5° Congresso internazionale "Healthy lifespan - positive nutrition, antiinflammation diet, physical activity and sport" organizzato oggi e domani da Fondazione Paolo Sorbini, e promosso da Enervit e Technogym, a Palazzo Mezzanotte a Milano.Â
La due giorni, che vede confrontarsi esperti di fama internazionale sui principali aspetti legati al miglioramento della qualità della vita e alla promozione di una longevità sana, si rivolge prevalentemente a biologi, dietisti, farmacisti, fisioterapisti, chirurghi, studenti e laureati in scienze motorie e specializzandi in medicina.Importante per prevenire la degenerazione del sistema nervoso anche uno stile di vita dinamico, come spiega il neurologo Albanese: "Svolgere attività fisica a media o alta intensità regolarmente è importante perché da pochissimi anni si è scoperto che le cellule nervose, e i neuroni in particolare, per la loro attività continua utilizzano l’acido lattico. Quando si svolge attività fisica in maniera continuativa si produce acido lattico a livello dei muscoli e questo, in aggiunta a quello prodotto all’interno del sistema nervoso, facilita il funzionamento delle attività neuronali. I neuroni si tengono più dinamici e più efficienti per tutto il tempo in cui sono stimolati dalla presenza di acido lattico, che è un vero e proprio protettivo della funzione neurologica. Il tipo di attività fisica che si svolge è quindi molto importanteâ€.Â
Proprio per il suo ruolo nella protezione delle corrette funzioni del sistema nervoso, secondo l’esperto "lo sport deve essere incorporato nella formazione dei giovani. È importante che venga considerato un modo di vivere, uno stile di vita".Â
