(Adnkronos) - "E' molto importante portare maggiore visibilità sull'aspetto nutrizionale, parlare di alimentazione nella malattia. Questo fa sì che noi malati di Sla e di disfagia possiamo avere maggiori possibilità di alimentarci in modo corretto, e anche con gusto". Lo ha detto Davide Rafanelli, presidente di SLAfood e consigliere nazionale Aisla (Associazione italiana sclerosi laterale amiotrofica), intervenuto in video-collegamento alla prima edizione del convegno 'Sla: Metabolismo e Nutrizione. Nuove frontiere nella presa in carico', nella sede dell'Università di Scienze gastronomiche di Pollenzo (Cuneo). Obiettivo dell'evento, promosso dall'alleanza tra Centri clinici Nemo, Aisla e SLAfood, sotto l'egida di Slow Food, è ridefinire il ruolo fondamentale di un intervento nutrizionale mirato nella presa in carico delle persone con Sla, al fine di agire concretamente sul decorso di malattia e migliorare la qualità di vita.Â
"Mi auguro che questo incontro segni una svolta sull'approccio riguardante l'alimentazione nella malattia, un approccio più multidisciplinare, che porti beneficio sia al paziente con Sla sia alla famiglie che lo assiste - ha sottolineato Rafanelli - Io vivo quest'esperienza quotidianamente, quindi posso portare una testimonianza di come il potersi alimentare in maniera corretta sia anche psicologicamente molto importante perché ricrea quel momento di forte convivialità con la famiglia, con gli amici, con le persone a cui si vuole bene".Â
"Non ho mai avuto un approccio alla malattia come un errore, o come un sentirmi in guerra con qualcosa o con qualcuno - ha poi concluso - Ecco perché chiamo la mia Sla 'ladra': è arrivata in modo silenzioso e ha stravolto la mia vita in un'età particolare, mi ha portato via il futuro. Ha provato a portarmi via anche i sogni, senza riuscirci, né potrà portarmi via il presente. Quello continuo a viverlo ogni giorno ed è ciò che mi fa andare avanti, giorno per giorno". Â
