(Adnkronos) - "Siamo di fronte ad una doppia transizione, digitale ed ecologica, e l'unico strumento che abbiamo per provare a gestire questo processo è puntare sulle competenze, molto richieste dal mercato, ma che troppo spesso non si incrociano per il 'mismatch', condizione di disequilibrio tra domanda e offerta. Molto incide nel mondo dell'implementazione di questi settori innovativi. E quindi parliamo di Stem proprio per questo. Materie tecnico-scientifiche che hanno sì una grandissima chance dal punto di vista occupazionale (e del reddito), ma sono poco note tra i giovani forse anche per un gap mediatico, un deficit comunicativo. Purtroppo, non viene raccontata la grande potenzialità che hanno queste materie anche, e soprattutto, in ambito lavorativo". Lo ha detto all'Adnkronos Salute Marta Schifone (Fdi), membro XII Commissione Affari sociali e capogruppo in Commissione Lavoro della Camera, promotrice della prima legge nazionale istitutiva della Settimana Stem, intervenuta alla seconda edizione del Forum Incyte sulla ricerca a Roma. Â
Per Schifone c'è poi "un tema nel tema", ovvero il 'gender gap'. "Le ragazze scelgono meno le materie scientifiche - spiega - per una questione di pregiudizio. Secondo uno stereotipo le Stem sono appannaggio del genere maschile piuttosto che di quello femminile. Tuttavia, riscontriamo che le donne, una volta scelte queste materie, riescono e arrivano anche a livelli apicali. Ci sono moltissime donne che hanno segnato la storia della scienza e queste devono essere un modello per le ragazze. Dobbiamo dire alle giovani donne che devono e possono scegliere le materie tecnico-scientifiche per fare carriera. Per questo motivo, ci siamo domandati che cosa potesse fare il decisore, il legislatore rispetto a questo tema". Il risultato è stato l'aver istituito per legge la 'Settimana nazionale delle materie Stem', la cui seconda edizione si terrà dal 4 all'11 febbraio prossimo. Â
"Siamo certi che otterrà un grande successo dal punto di vista della sensibilizzazione e della comunicazione, come riscontrato il primo anno. Con questa iniziativa, infatti, abbiamo intercettato trasversalmente tutti gli anelli della filiera: scuola, università , docenti, start-up, aziende fino ai luoghi di cultura, per permettere a quelli che noi chiamiamo gli agenti del cambiamento di andare a incidere, raccontare la bellezza e le potenzialità che ha la scienza", conclude Schifone.Â
