(Adnkronos) - Miglioramento della qualità della vita, promozione di una longevità sana, prevenzione e sostenibilità del nostro Sistema sanitario nazionale che deve far fronte all’aumento delle patologie croniche legate all’invecchiamento della popolazione. Sono solo alcuni temi al centro di una tavola rotonda che ieri ha chiuso la prima giornata del V Congresso internazionale 'Healthy Lifespan - Positive nutrition, antiinflammation diet, physical activity and sport' organizzato dalla Fondazione Paolo Sorbini, e promosso da Enervit e Technogym, a Palazzo Mezzanotte a Milano. Â
Tra gli ospiti, anche il ministro dell’Economia e delle finanze, Giancarlo Giorgetti secondo il quale "l’ambito in cui opera la Fondazione Paolo Sorbini, cioè il miglioramento della qualità della vita nel quadro dell’incremento della longevità , tocca profondamente le economie avanzate come quelle italiane". Con la crescita dell’aspettativa di vita "la sostenibilità del Sistema sanitario sarà sempre più legata alla capacità di agire sulla dimensione della prevenzione – ha detto Giorgetti - Prevenzione intesa non solo come individuazione tempestiva delle patologie, ma anche come adozione di abitudini di vita salutari. Questo perché i dati evidenziano che le cause delle patologie connesse all’invecchiamento sono riconducibili in modo significativo a fattori di rischio su cui si può intervenire, come gli stili di vita poco sani".Â
Quando si parla di longevità – è emerso dalla tavola rotonda - un ruolo importante possono averlo le resolvine, molecole che regolano la fase conclusiva di un processo infiammatorio acuto, riparando i tessuti danneggiati e ripristinando quindi lo stato di buona salute del nostro organismo. "Siamo stati i primi a scoprire le resolvine - ha spiegato Charles N. Serhan, direttore del Center for experimental therapeutics and reperfusion injury presso il Mass General brigham e professore alla Harvard medical school - e ora ci sono 1831 studi su queste molecole e ancora non abbiamo finito di capirle. Siamo solo all’inizio, possono fare molto di più. Possono avere un ruolo nella rigenerazione dei tessuti e la capacità di promuovere la proliferazione delle cellule staminali". Â
"Nella storia della medicina ci sono dei passi avanti e conquiste che non possono essere dimenticati. L’aspirina, ad esempio, rimane un farmaco miracoloso decenni dopo il suo sviluppo, però dobbiamo prendere in considerazione il quadro generale e considerare l’importanza dell’induzione e la promozione delle resolvine perché certi antiinfiammatori in questo senso non ci aiutano – ha aggiunto Barry Sears, presidente della Inflammation research foundation e ideatore della dieta Zona - Dobbiamo lavorare sul metabolismo e sulla base di questo individuare gli strumenti che abbiamo a disposizione in questa battaglia". Â
Tra i temi toccati nella tavola rotonda anche le correlazioni tra longevità e diverse patologie come ad esempio il diabete. "Diabete e longevità sana sono tematiche strettamente connesse - ha sottolineato Camillo Ricordi, professore di chirurgia e capo della Divisione di trapianti cellulari dell’università di Miami Miller school of medicine in Fellow - Il diabete è una malattia che accelera il processo di invecchiamento e le strategie che possiamo implementare possono aiutare sia a prevenirlo. In tal senso la pandemia è stata un fortissimo acceleratore per la ricerca sulla longevità sana". Â
Infine, è stata sottolineata l’importanza dell’esercizio fisico "che ha un ruolo prevalentemente preventivo nelle malattie croniche neurodegenerative – ha poi concluso Alberto Albanese, presidente dell'Associazione internazionale sulle sindromi parkinsoniane e malattie correlate - Quando compaiono i primi sintomi abbiamo margini terapeutici molto ridotti. Per questo la prevenzione è fondamentale. È dimostrato che l’attività fisica continua e regolare di tipo aerobico previene e riduce il futuro sviluppo di malattie neurologiche di vario tipo". Â
