(Adnkronos) - Sul lago di Avigliana, in provincia di Torino, sabato 21 settembre, si sono sfidate in una gara di dragon boat, sottolineando l'importanza della prevenzione cardiovascolare e oncologica, le donne operate di tumore al seno della Cardiobreast Dragon Boat Festival 2024. L’iniziativa, giunta alla seconda tappa, è organizzata dall’Istituto Nazionale di Ricerche Cardiovascolari (Inrc) in collaborazione con la Federazione italiana Dragon Boat e il contributo incondizionato di Daiichi Sankyo Italia.Â
Durante la giornata, i partecipanti hanno potuto usufruire di screening cardiovascolari gratuiti grazie a un camper attrezzato dall’Inrc. I controlli includevano elettrocardiogrammi, monitoraggio pressorio e del quadro lipidico, accompagnati dalla distribuzione di materiale informativo sulla prevenzione cardiovascolare e oncologica. Questo aspetto è particolarmente significativo, dato l'aumento del 42% del rischio cardiovascolare nei pazienti oncologici. Le prossime tappe sono a Firenze, il 19 ottobre e, il 26, a Palermo.Â
Oltre alla competizione, il pubblico ha avuto l’opportunitĂ di provare la pagaiata sui dragon boat, in un’esperienza che ha sottolineato il valore della coesione e del supporto reciproco. Sullo spirito combattivo delle partecipanti si è soffermato Davide ZappalĂ , vicepresidente commissione SanitĂ Regione Piemonte, che ha evidenziato l’importanza della “lotta, che è la lotta piĂą importante, quella per la vita. La scelta di una disciplina come il Dragon Boat, che obbliga 10 persone a stare assolutamente assieme, è particolarmente azzeccata". Infatti "Il Dragon Boat - ha aggiunto Fulvia Pedani, oncologa della CittĂ della Salute e della Scienza di Torino - è uno sport singolare, unico nella sua capacitĂ di riabilitazione, in modo particolare della donna operata al seno, perchĂ© aiuta a prevenire il linfedema e riequilibra la postura". Inoltre "queste donne - ha sottolineato Giovanna Caputo, di Lilt - ci insegnano quanto sia importante” nel percorso di guarigione “la forza” la determinazione, “per reagire in una situazione che si presenta essere molto complicata". Anche Ferdinando Varbella, direttore della Cardiologia di Rivoli, ha ricordato che “gli stili di vita, l'alimentazione, sono la base di quella che è la prevenzione cardiovascolare, che si traduce poi in un abbassamento del colesterolo cattivo, in una riduzione del battito cardiaco. Quindi, un cuore che batte piĂą lentamente ma performa molto meglio".Â
