(Adnkronos) - Robbie Williams è sotto le lenzuola, con gli occhi lucidi e la voce si incrina quando ricorda la morte di Liam Payne, senza nominarlo. "Sto ancora elaborando", dice nel video pubblicato sui social in cui ringrazia i follower per l'amore e il supporto lasciati sotto il post in cui parlava dell'ex membro della boy band One Direction, morto in Argentina in seguito alla caduta dal balcone del terzo piano dell'hotel nel quale alloggiava.Â
"Come dare un senso alla tragedia di Liam Payne?". Robbie Williams si pone questa domanda nel post il in cui ricorda il cantante trentunenne. "Ovviamente - ha raccontato l'artista - i miei primi sentimenti sulla sua morte sono stati quelli di tutti gli altri: shock, tristezza e confusione. A essere onesto è come mi sento ancora". "Ho incontrato i ragazzi a X Factor - ricorda Willians - e ho fatto loro da 'mentore'. Uso il termine tra virgolette perché, a essere onesto, non ho fatto praticamente niente. Sono solo uscito con loro, erano adorabili". Robbie Williams ha spiegato di volere bene a tutti i membri degli One Direction e di essere stato vicino a Liam Payne, in particolare perché le sue pene "erano molto simili alle mie, quindi mi sembrava sensato offrire ciò che potevo".Â

Il cantante ha condiviso una chat con il giovane artista e poi ai suoi follower ha ricordato che "non conosciamo le vite delle persone, quali dolori stanno affrontando e cosa le fa comportare nel modo in cui si comportano". Poi Williams ha invitato gli utenti a riflettere prima di giudicare e scrivere sui social network: "Pubblicate i vostri pensieri come se non pensiate che le celebrità o le loro famiglie esistano. Esistono, sono fatti di pelle e ossa e grande sensibilità ". Â
Il cantante, ora cinquantenne, ha ricordato il suo passato: "A 31 anni avevo ancora i miei demoni". "Ricordo quando è morto Heath Ledger e pensai: 'Io sarò il prossimo'. Per grazia di Dio e/o per pura fortuna sono ancora qui". "Anche gli sconosciuti famosi meritano la vostra compassione. Come individui pensanti abbiamo il potere di cambiare noi stessi. Possiamo essere più gentili, più empatici".Â
