(Adnkronos) - La Freccia Rossa è arrivata anche in Austria: il format 1000 Miglia Warm Up, ormai consolidato nell’area di Washington D.C., con anche tre precedenti in Svizzera e uno nel Regno Unito, esordisce così nel Salisburghese e nel Tirolo. La giornata di ieri è stata dedicata al training sul circuito di Salzburgring, unico nel suo genere per la peculiare collocazione in una stretta vallata alpina. Il format Warm Up, del resto, è ideato per preparare al meglio gli equipaggi stranieri ad affrontare la parte sportiva della Corsa più bella del mondo. Il parterre delle vetture partecipanti comprende dodici fra i marchi più illustri dell’automobilismo sportivo, da modelli del 1929 come l’Alfa Romeo 6C 17500 SS Zagato e la Lancia Lambda Torpedo 218, fino alla Ferrari 308 GTS del 1979, la più “giovane” fra le vetture in gara. Menzione speciale per una Austin-Healey del 1958, una Triumph TR3 Sport del 1957 e una Porsche 356.
Alle 9 di stamattina, le 40 vetture partecipanti, tra cui 10 Porsche a contendersi la vittoria nel Porsche Challenge, sono partite alla volta della cittadina tedesca di Anger per una sosta al Museo Hans-Peter Porsche Traumwerk. Si è proseguito poi verso Lienz, nel Tirolo orientale, per giungere infine a Mittersill. Sabato 29, il convoglio attraverserà la regione del Salzkammergut. Dopo una sosta sul lungolago di St. Gilgen, gli equipaggi rientreranno a Salisburgo. In città, le auto attraverseranno il centro storico, concludendo la gara nella Mozartplatz. Seguirà una presentazione delle vetture nella sontuosa Residenzplatz. L’equipaggio che trionferà nella classifica assoluta si aggiudicherà la garanzia di ammissione alla 1000 Miglia 2025 e verrà premiato nell'Hangar-7 Red Bull dell'aeroporto di Salisburgo dove, accanto alla collezione di aerei storici, auto da corsa ed elicotteri, verranno esposte le auto vincitrici.
