(Adnkronos) - L'Inghilterra si conferma amara per il Bologna, che dopo Liverpool cade anche a Birmingham, nella terza giornata di Champions League. L'Aston Villa vince 2-0 grazie ai gol, tutti nella ripresa, di McGinn e Duran. I rossoblù di Italiano rimangono quindi con un solo punto in classifica, mentre i Villans volano a punteggio pieno a quota 9. Â
Intensità subito alta al Villa Park. Le prime occasioni sono del Bologna, prima con Urbanski e poi con Dallinga, che incrocia bene il destro ma trova la bella parata del Dibu Martinez. I rossoblù continuano a prendere campo e si rendono ancora pericolosi in contropiede, con Fabbian che sfiora il gol. Passano i minutie sale d'intensità la manovra dell'Aston Villa: Skorupski è decisivo in almeno due occasioni nel negare il vantaggio agli inglesi. Sul finale di tempo le squadre si allungano e aumentano i duelli in mezzo al campo. In pieno recupero Rogers ha due grandi occasioni: prima calcia da fuori area sfiorando il palo, poi lanciato in profondità trova la parata di Skorupski, ancora una volta provvidenziale in uscita.Â
Alla ripresa l'Aston Villa è subito pericoloso con Bailey, che da ottima posizione gira di sinistro ma non trova la porta. La risposta del Bologna è immediata: Orsolini sfonda sulla sinistra e serve Posch a rimorchio, ma l'austriaco strozza troppo il suo destro. La partita sale di agonismo e volano i cartellini. Al 55' l'equilibrio si spezza, con gli inglesi che trovano il vantaggio: punizione tagliata dalla destra di McGinn, che non trova deviazioni e si infila sul palo lontano beffando Skorupski. Il Bologna subisce il colpo e l'Aston Villa, al 64', trova il raddoppio: Duran anticipa Lucumì al centro dell'area e in tap-in trova il suo secondo gol in questa Champions. Due minuti dopo gli inglesi sfiorano addirittura il tris, ma il tiro a giro di Rogers si spegne alto. Il Bologna prova una reazione di nervi e orgoglio, ma i Villans mantengono in controllo il match e vanno ancora vicini al terzo gol in contropiede. A pochi minuti dal termine però Beukema ha sulla testa il pallone per riaprire la partita, ma il suo colpo di testa si spegne clamorosamente sulla traversa. Finisce quindi 2-0 a Birmingham.Â
