"La Rinascente di via Roma a rischio chiusura è la drammatica fotografia del collasso economico di una città mal governata, che oltre dovere fare i conti con la crisi fisiologica dei consumi scotta anche il peso della zavorra di amministrazione che nulla sa fare per sostenere i commercianti e le attività produttive in difficoltà, se non addirittura affossarli con scelte sciagurate, come la Zona a traffico limitato, utili solo a fare cassa".
Lo dichiara Alessandro Anello, commissario provinciale della Lega Palermo e vicepresidente della commissione consiliare Attività produttive, in riferimento al braccio di ferro fra il gruppo Rinascente e la società di gestione del risparmio che ha il palazzo che ospita il grande magazzino dal 2011 sul contratto d'affitto da 2 milioni e 400 mila euro l’anno in scadenza il 30 settembre che potrebbe non essere più rinnovato.
"Solidarietà agli oltre 300 lavoratori di Rinascente fra dipendenti e indotto che hanno annunciato due giornate di sciopero l'11 e 12 settembre - conclude Anello - per alzare i riflettori su un futuro incerto che non è solo il loro, ma quello di un'intera città alle prese con altre importanti vertenze di lavoro aperte, da Auchan a Coop, che dipingono un panorama davvero nerissimo".
