“Sarà un amaro ‘compleanno’ per il Trapanese e la Sicilia intera: un anno fa, il 24 settembre 2019, veniva inviato al Ministero dell'Ambiente il progetto di ripristino della tratta ferroviaria Trapani-Palermo via Milo, chiusa dal 2013. Ancora oggi attendiamo un semplice parere di non assoggettabilità, atto necessario per mandare in gara la ristrutturazione della linea. Ecco perché dopodomani, giovedì 24 settembre, ci ritroveremo alla stazione dismessa di Segesta, a un passo dallo straordinario sito archeologico, per una mobilitazione simbolica contro le pastoie della burocrazia che mortificano i cittadini e isolano i territori”.
Lo annuncia l’assessore regionale alle Infrastrutture Marco Falcone, in vista della manifestazione che si terrà il 24 settembre alla stazione ferroviaria di Segesta, in provincia di Trapani, alle ore 11. Lo scalo dismesso si trova lungo la diramazione "via Milo" della ferrovia Trapani-Palermo, in abbandono dal 2013. Il piano da 144 milioni per la riapertura della tratta affronta da tempo un lento iter autorizzatorio ministeriale.
“Il Governo della Regione, i sindaci, i lavoratori, le forze produttive del Trapanese - aggiunge Falcone - chiederanno al Governo Conte di porre fine a questa tragedia infrastrutturale della Sicilia occidentale. Pensate che, a causa della chiusura della tratta, i treni fra Palermo e Trapani sono costretti a “scendere” fino a Castelvetrano e Mazara del Vallo prima di raggiungere i capoluoghi. Tutto ciò, da oltre sette anni, si traduce in inefficienza, disagi e nella spoliazione della mobilità del Trapanese. Saremo in piazza - conclude l'esponente del Governo Musumeci - per dare voce alle aspettative dei siciliani”.
