Il sindaco Leoluca Orlando ieri ha ricevuto nella sede di Palazzo delle Aquile Abdelkrim Touahria, ambasciatore della Repubblica Algerina Democratica e Popolare in Italia. Touahria è stato accompagnato da una rappresentanza di consoli algerini. Presente, inoltre, Mohamed Laouar membro della Consulta delle CulturE del Comune di Palermo.
"È stato un importante incontro - ha dichiarato il sindaco - un'occasione per instaurare rapporti di collaborazione e di scambi di tipo culturale, artistico ed economico tra le città di Palermo e Algeri, utili a consolidare i forti legami tra l'Italia e l'Algeria, che ho avuto occasione di confermare in passato in occasione di inviti da parte delle autorità algerine. Di particolare attualità il progetto Amina con la presenza a Palermo presso le strutture amministrative comunali di 30 donne funzionarie dell'Amministrazione comunale di Algeri".
