Si è concluso ieri sera, dopo due giorni dall'arrivo, lo sbarco dei 461 migranti salvati dalla Sea Watch4 in diverse operazioni di salvataggio nel Mediterraneo. La nave della ong tedesca è approdata al porto di Augusta, nel Siracusano, venerdì alle 15 dopo il via libera del Viminale al luogo sicuro di sbarco.
Immediate sono scattate le procedure sanitarie previste per accertare eventuali casi di positività al covid 19: dalla ong avevano inoltre segnalato numerosi casi di ipotermia. I sanitari sembrano abbiano voluto approfondite un caso di sospetta tubercolosi, rivelatosi poi infondato. Subito dopo aver eseguito tutti i test sono cominciate le procedure di sbarco ed identificazione di tutti i migranti. I primi a scendere sono stati i 150 minori non accompagnati che sono stati trasferiti in alcuni centri di accoglienza in Sicilia, tra Siracusa e Agrigento. Un egiziano è stato portato in ospedale per alcuni accertamenti. Gli altri 311 sono stati invece trasferiti nelle tre navi quarantena che si trovavano al porto.
