“Romanzo urbanistico. Storie dalle città del mondo” è il titolo del libro di Maurizio Carta che sarà presentato a Palermo mercoledì 26 giugno alle 18:00 ai portici di via Mariano Stabile.
Edita da Sellerio, l’opera è un saggio acuto sul tema della rigenerazione urbana e una guida per viaggiatori attenti e curiosi.
Ma soprattutto, come recita lo stesso titolo, oltre a essere una mappa e un breviario, è un romanzo «urbanistico» per capire le città del mondo e immaginare futuri possibili in considerazione delle trasformazioni prodotte dagli organismi-città.
Maurizio Carta, urbanista, architetto, professore ordinario all’UNIPA e assessore all’Urbanistica e al Centro storico del Comune di Palermo, racconta quarantadue storie di città, tra le quali figurano le immancabili Londra, Mosca, Parigi, Barcellona, New York e Pechino e altre meno ovvie come Paducah, Hangzhou, Brest, Aalborg, Tirana, Favara.
“Le città che racconto – spiega l’autore nell’introduzione – hanno tutte percorso un viaggio di rinascita, di evoluzione, di fuga dall’eterno presente per raggiungere un nuovo futuro che è oggi il loro presente”.
A dialogare con l’autore sarà la giornalista Marianna La Barbera.
