Il cancelliere tedesco Olaf Scholz ha ribadito la sua sensazione riguardo alla mancanza di volontà da parte del presidente russo Vladimir Putin per un'apertura a negoziati di pace con l'Ucraina.
"Purtroppo al momento non vedo alcuna volontà di farlo", ha detto Scholz in un'intervista a Südwest Presse. Scholz ha quindi ribadito il sostegno all'Ucraina, ma anche l'intenzione di rimanere "in contatto con la Russia". "Ho deliberatamente tenuto contatti telefonici con Putin. Naturalmente, i nostri punti di vista molto diversi diventano evidenti. Ma deve arrivare un momento in cui Putin riconosce che non sta raggiungendo i suoi obiettivi imperialisti, che il prezzo è troppo alto", ha aggiunto Scholz, "le autorità ucraine hanno da tempo dichiarato di essere pronte per la pace. Ma non deve essere una pace dettata. Non puoi negoziare con una pistola puntata alla tempia".
