Un messaggio semplice che arriva da un contatto della propria rubrica. Una richiesta di aiuto facile da esaudire, quindi all’apparenza nulla di complicato. In realtà è una truffa, che negli ultimi mesi ha colpito tanti utenti di una delle più note applicazioni di messaggistica, WhatsApp, e che sfocia nel furto del proprio profilo.
“Ciao, ti ho inviato un codice per sbaglio, potresti rimandarmelo?”: questo il messaggio a cui bisogna prestare attenzione.
Ad inviarlo sembra essere un contatto della propria rubrica, ma in realtà è opera dei cybercriminali. Separatamente si riceve un altro messaggio con un codice a 6 cifre, che solitamente è quello di sblocco da inserire al primo avvio di WhatsApp. Se si invia il codice, si perde il controllo del proprio profilo insieme alle informazioni contenute. Passa tutto agli hacker. I cybercriminali possono accedere, ad esempio, a foto, vocali e rubrica, dati utili per realizzare altre frodi.
Il consiglio principale è quello che vale per tutte le truffe di questo genere: non condividere con altre persone i propri dati. È bene non rispondere a messaggi sospetti e, nel caso della truffa del codice a 6 cifre di WhatsApp, chiedere una verifica a chi ha inviato la richiesta di aiuto.
